• Apples-to-Apples- Are the quotes you receive from contractors all based on the same specifications? If not you may be hit with costly surprises along the way that were not part of the original quote.
• Qualified Contractors- Is the contractor that your board hired licensed and qualified to do the job? Has he pulled the proper permits from the township? is he carrying workman's comp. insurance for his crew? These are important questions that you should be asking of any company that does business in your community. It is exponentially more important when the project is a large one.
• Quality Materials- Did your board hire the contractor who's bid came in 50% lower than the other company? How can they possibly afford to work so much cheaper? Take a closer look at the materials being used. It is important that the material used on any project be durable and long lasting to ensure that you don't have to bid the project again in 3 years.
