Feb 2009 Newsletter

February 3, 2009

Dear Directors:

All Associations storing financial records at the management office were sent a letter regarding our new procedures as they pertain to scanning and file storage.  If you were asked to respond, please have an answer by the end of the month especially if you do not want to have your past files compiled and stored on DVD.  We are looking forward to the continued implementation of the scanning procedures across as many areas as possible for the most secure and affordable reporting to our clients.

February marks the annual time for taxes for the past year.  At this time we have already sent the information for 2008 to the accountants, Lewis & Knopf.  The returns are due by March 15, 2009 and we are on track to get them filed by that time.  If your community joined Cummings at the end of 2008 or early 2009, an extension may be needed to ensure that the information from the past management company has been reviewed and entered.  Your Manager will communicate with your Board, if any questions arise.

January continued to bring weather challenges to all communities with excessive snow removal efforts and salting needs.  As was discussed in my January Newsletter, please be aware of your community's budget as some assessments may be necessary to make up shortfalls that already exist.

Stay warm,

Kay
