April 5, 2009
Dear Directors:
The calendar tells us that we have entered the spring season, but the view outside is less than convincing. Hopefully this snow storm will be the last of the season. Regardless of the weather, we are ready to begin spring activities at Cummings.
We will use our monthly newsletters to announce sessions and opportunities for training throughout the year. Listed below are a couple of opportunities:
• Cummings representatives are offering a workshop titled, Understanding Your Financial Report, at our office (6190 Taylor Drive-Flint) on April 28, 2009 at 3:00 PM.
• On Friday, May 1, 2009, the State Community Association Institute's (CAI) Annual Conference will be held at the Rock Financial Showplace in Novi. Directors are invited to attend at a discounted price of $50/attendee.
• On Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at 3:00 PM at our office, we will be hosting an important training session for all directors titled, Understanding Hiring Liabilities and Risks, presented by attorney, Francine Cullari. This session will be co-sponsored by our State Farm agents.
Please pre-register for these workshops as seating is limited and on a first come basis. Talk to your manager or call us at 810/715-5310 or 800/965-5252 to reserve your seat. Should the meetings scheduled at our office not work for your schedule, please contact our office for options.
Our entire staff is currently involved with Strategic Planning, which is a process that helps to ensure that our company remains strong in the future. Part of this process goes to address the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of an organization. As we work toward addressing our business as an organization, please stay tuned for future updates. Discuss with your manager, if your community could benefit from likewise planning.
Plan now to schedule your spring walk around your communities. Your manager has fill-in forms that you can use for note taking. This is an important process to ensure that all common areas are viewed prior to assigning maintenance work. We look forward to looking at the grounds and buildings throughout the early spring.
As a note on our work schedule, our office will be closed Friday, April 10 in observance of the Easter Holiday.
Thanks,
Kay
